Gravel Perimeter
A gravel perimeter around your foundation provides several benefits.
Drip edge
Without a stone perimeter rain off the roof will splash mud/soil onto the siding. This is not good for the siding as the mud tends to hold moisture too long and can cause rot as well as create an unsightly dirty 'skirt' on your siding
Pest control
A clean gravel border reduces the number of rodents and insects from entering your home. This border will also enable placing traps and applying insects sprays to eliminate pests.
Foundation preservation
Concrete can be damaged by moisture wicking from soil, mulch, or other organic materials. A gravel perimeter will keep this area dry.
